A CLUB FOR ALL
VILLAGE CRICKET AND TENNIS SINCE 1936
Many people are keen to play more competitively. At HSC, we have a full calendar of tournaments and team tennis opportunities for all levels. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to compete regularly, there’s something for all. It’s a great way to improve your game, meet other players, and get involved in club life.
COMPETITIVE
CLUB TOURNAMENTS
The annual competitions are some of the best days at the club. We encourage healthy competition through tournaments and ladders, singles and doubles.
Every year we run several extremely popular adult tournaments, open to all:
-
Ladies Doubles: 2 day weekend in April
-
Mens Doubles: 2 day weekend in May
-
Mixed Doubles: 2 day weekend in June
-
Finals: Day 1 day in June
Mixed Weekend and Finals Day have a Family BBQ and all members are welcome. We can also help you find a doubles partner, or usually it just happens naturally in Spring each year. We honour the winners on our club honours boards, a nice little part of club history and heritage.

HSC TEAMS
Many members like playing in teams against other clubs. It provides variety and the experience of being part of a team. Playing in teams often forms close friendships as you play against opponents, travel to other clubs, and support each other through the highs and lows! We run 5 Mens Teams, 15 Ladies Teams, 2 Mixed Teams which compete in the Chaucer, Surrey and Woking Doubles Leagues, Winter and Summer.
Our teams cover all standards and ages including ‘vets teams’; some matches are played during the week, others at weekends or occasionally evenings.

FRIENDLY MATCHES
Friendly matches, not part of leagues or cups, are a bit more relaxed, are played in a fun, more friendly spirit. They can be weekdays or weekends, as arranged with other clubs. They provide variety without much pressure, and always end with a glass of wine or cake!
We also now use the MatchSpace App to create friendly leagues for singles and doubles matches between members, where you move up or down and can be challenged.
