A CLUB FOR ALL

VILLAGE CRICKET AND TENNIS SINCE 1936

Roll Up Club Social Sessions are a great way to meet people and start playing, we have sessions to suit everyone. We have 4 basic standards to help people find their level from beginner, improver, and intermediate to advanced. If you can serve and hold a basic rally, you’re probably an improver but we also have beginner’s courses to get you playing.

HOW SOCIAL ROLL-UPS WORK

1

Just turn up in your kit with your racket and join the session. If it’s your first time, let someone know – members are always happy to introduce you and help you get started.

2

You’ll usually play normal or short sets, (either 30 minutes or best of 9 games), then rotate depending on numbers. Some sets may be ladies, mens or mixed, so everyone gets time on court.

3

Some players warm up with “first serve in” to ease into play. If it’s busy, the courtside chat is part of the fun – or take a break and catch up with others in the bar.

TENNIS STANDARDS

We have a simple definitions of standards which help some members find their level.  If you want to know your level, just speak to one of the coaches and arrange a private hit, or attend a tennis lunchtime clinic which cost just £10, and you book them on the coaching website.

You don’t need a certain standard to start playing – just come down for a hit with friends or family, organise your own games. Many new members join the Friday Night Social Roll Up (min. Improvers) to meet new people. Or just go for it and enter any tournament and competition, whether singles or doubles!
